Greetings to all---
Dave and I got home last night after a week in the trailer in Wisconsin. We stayed beside the upper Mississippi River. We found that even retirees can have a good time watching barges go thru the lock and dam.
Seamus was with us for 3 days. He's meticulous (a little OCD?) for an almost-4 y.o. and the first time he went camping w/ us he was somewhat concerned about things being 'dirty'-- picnic-table, sl burnt marshmallows, etc. This time I mentioned that dirt was just one of the joys of camping--and he explained that to me again a few times in the next couple of days. It's nice when the message gets through. He started talking about wanting to go camping again--even though it was a 'little boring sometimes'.
I think Bella is exhausted today.
Hope everyone is well---

Back in the swing of things...
Hi all--
Erin, thanks for the neat pictures! I keep intending to post a pic of the Nehres and Coopers at the Cubs-Cards game in St. Louis a few weeks ago. We did have a great time, even in 95 degree weather, or whatever it was. I'll have to wait to post the pics later, though because our camera is someplace in a MO state park with my boys tonight! The weather is so amazing that Mike decided to take Andrew on a little camping trip before he goes back to school next week. What a great night to be out! They left around lunchtime and it sounds like they have had a wonderful time.
School kicked off for me this week, though, so no camping for me. I'm teaching Music History I again this semester--the same class I taught last fall. My goodness, it's nice to start the term with so many materials already prepared. I'm tweaking things, but that is easy compared to creating everything. It is good to be back in the classroom and I seem to have some really interesting students, which is always fun. I love learning from them.
Our bathroom project is slowly progressing. Mike has removed every bit of plaster from walls and ceiling and is preparing the exterior (brick) wall so we can hang drywall there. He's rewired some things, too, and still has all of his eyebrows, so that's a good sign! :) We're not going to have it done by the time he goes back to school, but hopefully we can have drywall up and the plaster mess finished. I am tired of having a thin layer of white dust and haze over everything from the deconstruction phase. I'll post try to post some pics over the weekend so you can see the latest adventures... Enjoy this amazing weather!!!
Love,
Heather

Lovely weather!!
Just wanted to share how much I am loving this amazing weather! Low humidity and perfect temps! Hooray!
Also thought I would share a few of my photos from this summer. I finally figured out how to easily download my pics of my phone.

Transformers in Chicago...
Transformers has been filming in Chicago for quite a while now.
This week they have been setting up and filming by my El stop downtown.
Here's a pic from Monday when they were setting up. They truck in the destruction on a flatbed trailer and then hide the trailer parts from showing.

The next pic is from today when they were filming while I got on the train home. They didn't want people taking pics from the El platform, so they only allowed people down the platform when their train was coming. I snapped this from inside the El... It's hard to see but there are guys with guns crouching on the parking ramp. I think they were in the midst of shooting because the guys were crouching on the left side of the ramp and then 30 seconds later they were on the right side.

I have a few more pics if you are interested :)

What's New?
Hi Everyone,
Just checking in to see what's new with everyone. I know a few updates...
I saw on Facebook that Sarah and Dan were going down to St Louis (sans kids) to a Cubs/Cardinals game with the Nehre's this past weekend. Sounds like fun! Hopefully it wasn't too hot!
Mom and Dave had visitors from Madison this past weekend - Seamus & Esme (& their parents). Mom & Dave now have a new family member, adopting Kramer, Matt Sidney & Colette's yellow tabby that causes Colette to sneeze. Apparently, Kramer and Max could be brothers :) The weekend before they had visitors from Minneapolis, and I was able to meet Scott & Amy's little girl Norah for the first time - ADORABLE!
G&G went to Old Settler's this past weekend and had a great time at the reunion up in Okoboji the weekend before.
Matt & Lindsay came to Chicago 2 weekends ago. We had a great time on Sunday afternoon tooling around Oak Park and enjoying Mama Thai. Sounds like they walked around alot and were a bit red from the sun when I saw them on Wednesday before they went back home.
Transformers is being filmed in Chicago right now and they are shooting tonight right by my El (train) stop downtown. Once I get the pics downloaded from my phone, I'll post a couple.
Cheryl & Steve, what are you up to?
Hope everyone is doing well! and enjoying the cooler temps this week! What a relief!!
Cheers,
Erin
